Remarks:
Commissioned as part of the Sesquicentennial renovation of the state fairgrounds at Fair Park. Funded by the Meadows Foundation, Communities Foundation of Texas, Texas Commission on the Arts, Dallas Department of Park and Recreation, and other private and corporate donations (listed on file with AIPP). Cost: $992,995. As an environmental piece, the sculpture protects the lagoon from erosion, creates a shelter for aquatic plants and organisms, and provides a place for visitors to stroll into the lagoon.
