Description:
A relief sculpture depicting Father Neptune and Mother Earth crowning the youthful Maiden Corpus Christi "Queen of the Sea." The Maiden Corpus Christi is classically dressed and holds a flower bouquet in her proper right arm. On her proper left is a female figure representing Mother Earth. She is classically dressed and holds one side of a crown above the head of the Maiden Corpus Christi. To the Maiden's proper right is a figure of Neptune holding the other side of the crown above her head. Beside Neptune's proper right leg is a dolphin. In the background, a square-sailed ship sails into Corpus Christi Bay. Opposite, a plowman tills the soil and heaps the gift of the land at Mother Earth's feet. At the feet of the Maiden is an industrial gear, a Rotary Club symbol referring to the artist's devotion to the value of civic service. The relief serves as a backdrop for a rectangular concrete fountain and pool. The panel is gray; the fountain and pool are white.
