    Description: 
    Six authentic concentration camp jackets have been bronzed and are arranged semi-circular fashion against wrought iron bars over the gates at the entrance to the library.

    Remarks: 
    Funded with private donations. The six jackets of concentration camp victims are symbolic of the six million Jews who died at the hands of the Nazis. On the back of the jackets are the names of the six most infamous concentration camps. IAS files contain a related article from The Jersey Journal (Jersey City, NJ), Bayonne Edition, April 22, 1988, pg. 1, 6; and a copy of the dedication program.
    Inscription on nearby plaque reads: "To Give to Bigotry/No Sanction..."/(George Washington)/This memorial to the victims/of the Holocaust (1939-1945)/is dedicated by Citizens of/Bayonne, New Jersey to Affirm/Our Humanity and Repudiate/Intolerance/Ruth Preminger/Chairman, Holocaust Memorial/Dennis P. Collins/Mayor/April 1988.
