At the top of the totem pole is an eagle with outstretched wings. The wings are made of plywood and attached to each side of the pole. A beak carved from wood projects from the front of the eagle. Below this, in descending order, are: a fleur-de-lis, representing the Boy Scouts; a mask or face; a badger; an elephant with a long trunk; and two connecting fives (the top number inverted), representing the Explorer Post number 55. Two mask-like faces, and a figure with arms resting on its knees, appear at the base of the totem pole. The totem pole is bolted to another telephone pole behind it.
