Description:
An abstract sculpture made of aluminum and then sandblasted, giving the piece a uniform matte surface which at first glance resembles stone. The sculpture curves upward from a square form at the base. The shape tapers inward in the middle, flairs outward towards the top, and then tapers in again to a point at the very top. The shape of the sculpture reflects qualities of aircraft and their flight. The sculpture has facets and edges formed by the surfaces changing direction at various points, resulting in no two views being the same. The base is constructed of poured concrete with vertical flutes on all sides.
