Standing portrait of Robert W. Woodruff dressed in a long overcoat holding his hat in front of him with his proper left hand. He holds a cigar in his raised proper right hand. The figure rests on a square bronze base on top of a circular stone base surrounded by a circular brick base. The sculpture is installed in a wooded area.

Formerly located High Museum of Art, 1280 Peachtree Street, N.E., Between High Museum of Art and Woodruff Art Center, Atlanta, Georgia 30309 1983-1995.
Remarks:
The sculpture, unveiled in 1983 on the lawn between the High Museum of Art and the Woodruff Art Center, was removed for conservation in 1995. In 2000, the sculpture was placed on loan to Emory University by the Woodruff Art Center.
Plaque formerly installed near High Museum and Woodruff Art Center read: Robert W. Woodruff/Internationally renowned industrialist,/Civic leader, and philanthropist,/who recognized the arts as essential to/community life and made possible/development of the Atlanta Arts Alliance/In recognition of his leadership and support, this Arts/Center was named for him on his 93rd birthday,/December 6, 1982/Statue in bronze by William J. Thompson.
