    Description: 
    Larger than life full-length figure of a commercial fisherman standing in the bow of a skiff holding a fishing net. The fisherman is bearded and dressed in foul weather gear. His proper right foot is in the boat and his proper left leg is bent with that foot on the port gunwale. The fisherman is leaning forward with both hands holding the net, which is draped over the boat's bow. Only the forward portion of the boat is modeled. The sculpture is sited on a rocky promontory which is separated from the rest of the island at high tide.

BELOW: MEMORIAL SPONSORED/BY THE/COMMERCIAL FISHERMENS WIVES/OF HUMBOLDT/THRU/COMMUNITY DONATIONS/DESIGNED AND CREATED/BY DICK CRANE/COPYRIGHT 1981 (copyright symbol). An anchor is adjacent to the marker. Plaque on another nearby marker reads: IN MEMORY OF FISHERMEN LOST AT SEA (list of the local fishermen who have been lost). On plaque on nearby bench: Commercial Fishermen's Wives/of Humboldt dedicate this/bench to all the people who/made our monument possible/May 30, 1990.
