Wisconsin Power and Light, High Street, Mineral Point, Wisconsin

Formerly located Gundry and Gray, High Street, Mineral Point, Wisconsin
Remarks:
Originally the dog welcomed customers at the entrance to the Gundry and Gray department store on High Street. A local ordinance later required the dog be installed on a second story balcony. It remained there until 1951, when Wisconsin Power and Light moved into the former department store building. The dog was taken down for safety during remodeling of the building, and was later reinstalled. The dog has been restored several times, most recently in 1984. IAS files contain a Wisconsin Power and Light brochure, which includes a photograph of the dog installed on the balcony of Gundry and Gray.
