Inscription:  (Front of base:) BRUCE (artist's symbol) MOORE (Right front of base: a pedal-like design) (Back of base:) Wichita 1929 (Back of base: a pedal-like design on both right back and left middle) signed Description:  A male panther is walking in a long stride with his head held low, the proper front right paw extended forward. The panther's tongue hangs from its mouth and curls. Subject:  Animal -- Panther Object Type:  Sculpture Owner:  Administered by Wichita Public School System, Unified District No. 259, Administrative Office, 217 North Water, Wichita, Kansas 67202 Located Wichita High School East, 2301 East Douglas, In Library, Wichita, Kansas 67202 Remarks:  The sculpture was given to the school many years ago, but in the mid-1970s it was stolen from the old library and was missing from between one to four years, depending on two varying accounts. The sculpture was later found wrapped in a plastic bag and left in a city park. By the time it was found, a new library had been finished and the sculpture was installed in the new library. Two holes were drilled in the base and the sculpture was bolted to a wooden cabinet in the new library.
