    Description: 
    Standing portrait of Joan of Arc wearing a dress with a suit of armor over her chest. Her arms are crossed over her chest and she holds a sword in front of her with her proper right hand. A sheath for the sword hangs from her proper left side. Behind her proper right foot is a tree stump.

    Remarks: 
    The authorized bronze statue was cast in Rome by Alessandro del Monte, copied from a composite stone version that had been given to Wichita in 1970 by its' sister city Orleans (see IAS record 75004996). (The stone composite was an authorized copy of an 1836 Versailles statue by Princess Marie, daughter of King Louis Philippe of the House of Orleans). The bronze replica, which cost $11,000, was funded by Friends of the Sister Cities, Project Beauty and the City of Wichita.
