The woman's hair is gathered back in a pony-tail. The sculpture is placed at the edge of a reflecting pool. Alfred Boerner's two sons were the models for the boys. The stone used was quarried at Currie Park. The sculpture was created under a Works Progress Administration (WPA) program.
