    Son of writer/journalist William Allen White and native of Emporia, Kansas, William Lindsay White took over the Emporia Gazette upon his father's death. White was also a successful war correspondent, a writer and editor, and served in the Kansas Legislature. IAS files contain related articles from the Emporia Gazette, Oct. 26, 1988 and Oct. 28, 1988.
