The sculpture was funded with more than $40,000 in private and corporate donations. Fell's Pointer article (July 2015) notes the sculpture was installed in 2008, but Baltimore Sun article (Sept. 5, 1998) notes the sculpture was dedicated on Sept. 5, 1998.
