    Rectangular granite marker with image of a coal miner emerging from the front of the stone. He is dressed in work clothes, with miner's hat on. He holds a lunch pail at his side in his proper left hand.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture is a memorial to all anthracite miners in Wyoming Valley and was the idea of Mrs. Maria Capolarella, chairman of the Pittston Bicentennial Committee. IAS files contain newspaper clipping from Wyoming Valley Today, April 12, 1976, which shows preliminary sketch of the statue.
