Description:
Figure of Union soldier standing at parade rest. He wears uniform consisting of knee-length coat, cape buttoned at neck, and cap. The mustached figure holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands. Butt of gun rests in front of his proper right foot. Proper left foot slightly forward. Four relief panels attached to sides of base. East panel: three rifles leaning against each other in pyramid shape. South panel: Civil War soldier on horse. West panel: Eagle, shield, and crossed flags. North panel: anchor above two crossed cannons. Lowest section of base textured to resemble rough stone.
