Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. H. 6 ft. 2 in.; Base: approx. 4 ft. 6 in. x 3 ft. 5 in. x 3 ft. 5 in. Inscription:  (Plaque on front of base:) IN MEMORY/OF/OUR SOLDIER DEAD. (On front of base:) DEDICATED/MAY 30, 1913. unsigned Description:  Figure of Union soldier standing at parade rest. He wears uniform consisting of knee-length coat, cape buttoned at neck, and cap. The mustached figure holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands. Butt of gun rests in front of his proper right foot. Proper left foot slightly forward. Four relief panels attached to sides of base. East panel: three rifles leaning against each other in pyramid shape. South panel: Civil War soldier on horse. West panel: Eagle, shield, and crossed flags. North panel: anchor above two crossed cannons. Lowest section of base textured to resemble rough stone.
