Description:
A seated nude female figure with cloth draped over her lap and proper right arm. She wears a crown and sits on a rectangular claw-footed stool with ornate edging. In her proper right hand, held at shoulder-height, are three birds. Her proper left hand rests on her proper left thigh, palm up, holding an ornate disk topped by a miniature chariot with three horses and a rider. The sculpture rests on a rectangular stone base.

Remarks:
One of four figures, 20 panels and two pediments designed by Sanford for the Capitol Extension buildings. IAS files contain copy of the National Register for Historic Places Nomination Form and California State Library "Self-Guided Tour" handout, which gives detailed history of the building.
