Horse's neck and head strain downwards, the head turned to the extreme proper right, while back legs, hind quarters, and tail rise into the air. Cowboy leans far back in the saddle, strains toward proper left, and holds reins with proper left hand. Proper right hand holds hat in mid-air. Cowboy wears long-sleeved shirt, trousers, sheep's wool chaps, and boots. Clump of sagebrush stands adjacent to horse's front legs. Sculpture sits on a low rectangular base.
