Description:
Monument consists of tall, square shaft flanked by figures of an infantryman and a sailor. The shaft is mostly plain, except for a relief of an airplane at the top southwest side and crossed cannons on the lower southwest side. The infantryman stands on the west side and the sailor stands on the east. Both figures are in full uniform and the infantryman holds a Springfield rifle in front of him in both hands.

Remarks:
The monument is a memorial to Vicksburg and Warren County soldiers killed in World War I. The soldier was modelled after William W. Allein and the sailor after his brother, Henry C. Allein. The brothers were killed in action, Oct. 1918.
