    A nearby plaque reads: "Zerogee", created by Paul T. Granlund dedicated to Helga I. Gundersen, December 12, 1867 - August 22, 1951 She came to La Crosse from Solor Norway in 1893 as wife of a pioneer surgeon to become the mother of 8 children she loved her native country and became a dedicated american -In memory of my mother by Her son Alf H. Gundersen 1983. The sculpture's title, "Zerogee," is a takeoff on "zero gravity," the physicist's term for weightlessness. IAS files contain a related article from the La Crosse Tribune (Wisconsin) from early fall, 1983, pg. 2B and 2H.
