    Remarks:
The sculpture was given as a gift to the University in 1971 by the William G. Reed family in honor of Eleanor Henry Reed. In 1989 the sculpture was vandalized and broken off at the foot. Repairs were undertaken in cooperation with the artist. IAS files contain copies of related University registration sheet, University of Washington Visitor's Guide and article from The Daily (University of Washington), Vol. 96, No. 61, pg. 1. The sculpture is often "decorated" by students, with flower garlands, a muffler added around her neck, and shoes laced over her feet.
