Commissioned by the University of Minnesota's Alumni Association to commemorate the Association's seventy-fifth anniversary. A explanation of the project and the production of this sculpture was the subject of a 1981 exhibit entitled "Process," organized by Melvin Waldfogel, then Director of the University Gallery. IAS files include an excerpt from "Monumental Minnesota" and a reference to the exhibition catalog "Process, 1981."
