    Description: 
    A two-part sculpture consisting of a series of interlocking, folded ribbon shapes, representing a DNA molecule. The sculpture is orange-cinnamon in color, with sections electrostatically-painted lime green. The two pieces arch over a sidewalk.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned by the Metro Dade County Art in Public Places Program, with a budget of $46,000. The orange and green colors of the sculpture represent the University of Miami school colors. The artist first conceived the sculpture when she heard philosopher Buckminster Fuller assert that the triangle is the basis of the universe. The sculpture was initially conceived as just one piece, to be placed in a fountain at the Station. IAS files contain the artist's statement about the sculpture, a related article from the Coral Gables News, June 8, 1983, pg. 1; and an undated article from the Miami Herald.
