    Remarks: 
    As an art student at the University of Maryland (class of 1960), Jim Henson made his muppet creations. The sculpture, designed by Jay Hall Carpenter, and Memorial Garden, landscaped by Chapel Valley Landscape Company, are gifts of the University of Maryland classes of 1994, 1998, and 1999. The sponsoring classes contributed $45,000 for the memorial, about 20% of the total cost.
