Description:
A swan with its wings spread is made of 1/2 inch thick bronze sculptured in an open work design. The design of the swan incorporates the "U" and "S" symbols from the University School. The spread of the wing forms the "U" and the body forms the "S."

Remarks:
The artist designed and constructed the sculpture as a class of 1968 gift to the school. The sculpture was originally mounted on a large granite pedestal with steel pins, but when the pins rusted after several years, the sculpture was removed and remounted. IAS files contain article from the University School News, Feb. 24, 1978, pg. 9. IAS files also contain an unidentified article which describes how the work was modeled and cast.
