Description:
Four stylized aircraft with exhaust trailing behind them pointing skyward. Three planes fly side-by-side and one plane flies alone representing the United States Air Force Thunderbird Aerial Demonstration Team's version of the missing man formation to salute fallen comrades. Planes are depicted in outline form with angled exhaust making central plane the tallest which creates a v-style formation. Sculpture is set on base in plaza with cement benches.

Remarks:
The idea for the monument originated in August of 1973. The monument cost $25,000 and was paid for by the San Antonio Chapter of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association. It is a permanent memorial to the 47,000 Americans lost in Southeast Asian combat. Nearby plaque reads: Dedicated to Those Americans Lost in SEA Combat.
