Description:
The piece is in two distinct sections: one an abstract horseshoe at a height convenient for sitting; the other, 3-shaped slabs of marble set into the ground like 3 spokes of a wheel approx. 120 degrees apart from each other. The whole is situated on a side hill, surrounded by bark mulch. The horseshoe is raised above the ground by 9 piers, 4 marble, 5 concrete. The top of the two sections are set horizontally.

IAS files contain a letter from the Physical Plant director Carl Riden at Trinity College to the VT SOS! coordinator, Ann Lawless, about the concept behind the work. The piece is a collaborative piece done with students and staff at the college. The work is located in the middle of a sidewalk, forcing passersby to interact with it.
