Four metal whirligigs. Each whirligig represents a scene from the movies. On one, a cowboy on horseback chases a runaway cart. The cowboy rides a pinto horse. The cart, black with yellow wheel, is pulled by a white horse. A man wearing a cowboy hat and red shirt, sits on the front of the cart, his hands and feet in the air. This whirligig stands on a bright yellow tripod. A second whirligig features Charlie Chaplin in black suit and hat. A long-handled paintbrush rests across his shoulder. Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned by the Community Redevelopment Agency. At the time of the SOS! survey, the sculpture was in an outdoor parking lot in the NoHo Arts District. Each whirligig stood atop a metal tripod base. Nearby plaque reads: " 'Action'. Artist: Kenny Schneider. NoHo Sculpture Project. Community Redevelpment Agency LA 1994."
Due to deterioration, the sculptures were removed with permission from the artist and their bases were modifed for interior exhibition. The works are now on display at the Gay and Lesbian Elder Housing Community Room in the Triangle Square building in Hollywood.
