Description:
A boy, a girl and a dog, seated on a metal step. The boy, dressed in overalls, a long-sleeved turtleneck and sneakers, wearing short hair and bangs, sits on a step with his legs dangling over the edge. On his lap is an open book held in his proper left hand, his proper right thumb on top of the page. His head and gaze are pointed downward as he intently examines something in the book. At his proper left kneels a girl, who appears to be a little older, her head close to his head. Her hips rest on her heels, the soles of her shoes pointing skyward. She has chin-length hair with a bow. She is dressed in a short-sleeved top over a long-sleeved top, each with scalloped edges. She is pointing to something in the book that the boy holds. Next to the girl is a dog seated facing in the opposed direction, ears plastered on either side of his head, mouth open, tongue hanging out. A ball rests near his proper right front leg.
