    Provenance: 
    Formerly located P.S. 36, 123 Morningside Avenue, New York, New York 1967.
    Remarks: 
    The sculpture, completed in August 1967, was commissioned by the New York City Board of Education and was originally installed at P.S. 36 on the corner of 123rd Street & Amsterdam Avenue. However, when the numbers and letters began to fall off, the sculpture was moved to the artist's home in East Hampton where is remains on its side because it is too high for the town ordinance. The image in IAS photo files shows the sculpture in its former location.
