Provenance:
Formerly in the collection of Anderson, Mons, LaCrosse, Wisconsin ca. 1880.
Remarks:
The sculpture was purchased by Mons Anderson around 1880 to be placed in front of his mercantile store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It was one of two (different) lions, the other of which is now in Spring Grove, Minnesota.
