Inscription:
(On plaque on front of base:) "Our Lady of Justice" graced the Stonewall County Courthouse from its beginning in 1911, and she was removed from the top of the dome in 1954 and placed in a bade (sic) where she stood until a new courthouse was erected in 1983./In 1987 the citizens of Stonewall County contributed funds to have "Our Lady" renovated and placed on a pedestal at the present site on the courthouse square./"Our Lady" has withstood many droughts, numerous storms, and much other damaging weather, and has seen many of her sons leave for World War I and II and also for the Korean and Vietnamese conflict; some of those were never to return./Still she stands with her scales of Justice and swords to defend her citizens and to declare Liberty and Justice for All. (On plaque on front of base:) 1987. Donations were given to "Our Lady of Justice Fund" (followed by a list of donors) unsigned
Description:
Full-length female figure. She is classically dressed in long flowing robes. Her hair is worn up in a roll. Her proper left arm is bent at the elbow and slightly raised. In it she holds a set of scales. Her proper right arm is at her side; in her proper right hand she holds a sword. The tip of the sword touches the ground. The sculpture has a green patina and stands atop a concrete and brick base.

Remarks:
The sculpture was originally located on top of the Stonewall County Courthouse Dome in 1911. In 1954 it was moved to the courthouse lawn. In 1987 it underwent restoration at The Conservation Group, Washington University Technology Associates (St. Louis, MO). After restoration, the sculpture was placed on a pedestal in front of the courthouse in its current location.
