Description:
Two identical uniformed Union soldiers, with moustache and goatee, stand at parade rest. Each soldier wears a visored cap, a short cape over a knee-length coat, and each has a cartridge pouch hanging from his belt in the rear. Each holds, with both hands, the remains of a rifle barrel.

Remarks:
IAS files contain an excerpt from "Restoration Study; Commandant's Residence," 1975, with information on the establishment and history of the Indiana State Soldiers' Home. The commandant's home was built in 1899. Sculpture dates are unknown.
