    Description: 
    This circular sculpture conveys its message with four pairs of emotionally charged words: LIFE/DEATH, LOVE/HATE, PLEASURE/PAIN, and NATURE/ANIMAL NATURE which flash independently in a pattern that repeats every few minutes. Their visual impact is intensified by the outline of each word in several colors. The sculpture is meant to symbolize the circle of life. The piece is positioned behind the glass wall of the bus shelter.

    Remarks: 
    This work was funded by Chicago Sculpture International and was acquired for the City of Chicago with a 50,000 dollar Arthur Anderson and Company award. It was first seen on Chicago's State Street Mall in 1985 as part of a juried exhibition held concurrently with the Chicago International Art Exposition. IAS files contain transcription of text appearing next to sculpture on the glass wall of the bus shelter.
