    Description: 
    Full-length figure of Mary. She wears sandals, robes and a cloak which covers her head. The robes are decorated with two stars and belted at the waist with a tasseled cord. Her outer cloak has embroidery around the edges. A rosary is looped over her proper right arm and her hands are clasped in prayer. She stands on a billowy mass of clouds or rocks. Two plants grow up on either side of her. The concrete sculpture stands on a base composed of mortared fieldstones topped by a polished gray granite slab.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was donated to the parish by Governor Francis P. Murphy to commemorate the first Catholic worship in New Hampshire. Plaque indicates the sculpture was installed in 1953; related publications indicate the sculpture was installed in 1954. IAS files contain copy of related excerpt from Durham Historic Association's "Durham New Hampshire a History 1900-1985", Canaan, NH: Phoenix Publishing, 1985, pg. 182-183.
