Statue: approx. 62 x 18 x 15 in.; Base: approx. 30 x 26 x 26 in.

A figure of the Virgin Mary, dressed in long robes and a long cloak which covers her hair and back, stands crushing a serpent with her bare proper right foot. The serpent has an apple in its mouth. Mary's hands are clasped together in prayer and her head is bowed. She stands on a half-sphere that is adorned stars and two horns.

St. Michael's Church, 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter, New Hampshire 03833

St. Michael's Church was dedicated on Sept. 29, 1958. The statue was purchased two years later using funds raised from a "block rosary." Fr. John A. McSweeney brought the statue back from Italy ca. 1960.
