    Remarks:
The sculpture cost approximately $5,000. It was installed by parishioners of St. Mary's Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 837. The sculpture honors four young men of the church who were killed during World War I and over 100 other men and women of the parish who served during the war, including Reverend Father S. J. Ryder, then assistant pastor. The sculpture was fabricated by the Daprato Statuary Company after Bertel Thorwaldsen's "Christ the Consoler." The Chicago Architectural Bronze Company created the bronze plaques and the J. H. Powell Granite Company fabricated the base.
