    Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned in memory of Thomas Skemp (coach and teacher at St. Mary's) by his family and is a symbol of those saints who founded religion congregations devoted to education, and specifically St. John Baptiste de La Salle, founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. It took 7 1/2 years to complete the sculpture. Casting was done at J, A & M Foundry under the direction of Andy Guzik and the supervision of the artist, Brother Jerome Cox, FSC.
