Provenance:
Formerly located Princeton University, Art Museum, Princeton, New Jersey 08544 ca. 1888-1963.
Remarks:
The twenty-five casts which comprise this frieze were possibly cast from the original marble pieces from the Parthenon (in possession of the British Museum). Princeton University acquired these casts and installed them on the north facade of their museum in 1888. They were removed when the museum was remodelled in 1963 and given to St. Mary's College. IAS files contain detailed description and dimensions of each panel. IAS photo files contain images of the frieze's installation.
