Sculpture: painted concrete; Base: limestone and brick.

Sculpture: approx. 80 x 32 x 32 in.; Base: approx. 56 x 197 x 44 in.

Standing figure of Virgin Mary, robed, barefoot, standing on a serpent, hands palms upward. Placed on brick pedestal with tiers on each side, on which are placed planters. It is surrounded by an oval area filled with loose stones and low evergreen shrubbery.

Originally in niche on facade of earlier St. Bernard's Church at Washington and Pike. That building was demolished, and the sculpture was moved to the site of the new church in 1958.
