Description:
Mary wears a crown and stands dressed in an elaborate gown with a large key on the proper right side of her waist and a pouch on her proper right arm. She holds a scepter in her proper right hand and the Christ child with her proper left arm. Christ wears a crown and holds an orb in his proper left hand and has two fingers of his proper right hand raised. He wears a cross around his neck. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular base composed of sandstone blocks with a limestone cap.

Remarks:
The sculpture was donated to St. Augustine Catholic Church by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Flamion. It is a replica of a sculpture inside the church. The sculpture inside St. Augustine Catholic Church was made from the original Our Lady of Consolation sculpture in Belgium and installed at the church around 1867. IAS files contain an excerpt from Moseby's "Living History of Perry County, 1975."
