Description:
St. Augustine, dressed in ecclesiastical garb that includes a mitre, stands holding a quill pen in his raised proper right hand and holding a book at his side in his proper left hand. The sculpture is placed atop a projecting ledge on exterior church wall.

Remarks:
The sculpture was originally commissioned for St. Bernard's Seminary in Rochester, New York. The sculpture was fabricated at the Joseph Sibbel Studios in New York City and was cast in Italy. The sculpture was removed from the seminary after it closed and was installed at its present location in the autumn of 1987. The sculpture was cleaned when moved.
