    Description: 
    Running figure of a World War I doughboy in full uniform, unkempt from battle. He holds his gun in his proper right hand and points with his proper left hand. The plaque is decorated with four groups of soldiers marching across the top and a Greek or Roman soldier with a shield in the middle.

    Remarks: 
    Erected to the memory of North Providence citizens who served in World War I. The boulder was provided by the Angell Farm in Johnston, RI. IAS include citations to The Observer North Providence 200th Anniversary Issue (Greenville, RI) v. x, no. 5 (April 8, 1965) and the book "Looking Back Four Score Years 1845-1925," by Frank C. Angell (Centredale, RI: Centredale Press/Post Office Building, 1925, pg. 140-142.
