Description:
A sundial with a tall shaft in its center. Two triangular wedges are adjacent to the shaft with their sharpest corners touching the shaft's base. Distributed around the shaft and imbedded into the plaza are brass numbers, 8 through 12, 1 through 8. The plaza is enclosed by walls on two sides, with a boulder resting in front of one of the walls.

Remarks:
Commissioned by Alaska One Percent for Art Program for $15,308. Steel Fabricators fabricated the brass numbers, and Discovery Drilling drilled the foundation for the shaft and erected the shaft. The shadow of the shaft falls onto the plaza, and the viewer can tell the time between 8 am and 8 pm. The two wedges are in alignment with the sunrises on the summer and winter solstices.
