Description:
A memorial honoring the Binghamton Fire Department consists of a marble shaft featuring a relief of a fireman rescuing a little boy from the flames of a fire. A wreath and clasped hands are on the left side of the shaft and a wreath and fireman's horn are on the right side. At the entrance to the memorial, there are five steps leading up to a simple, but elaborately decorated gate made of bronze pipe attached at each end to a decorated gate pillar. Each pillar has a pointed cornice topped by a round finial. A circular railing composed of bronze pipe and decorated concrete pillars with round finials encloses the sculpture and a firemen's burial plot.
