    Description: 
    A statue of Winfield Scott, the former Civil War Union Army chaplain, who founded Scottsdale. He is shown balding with a beard; the sleeves of his loose work shirt pushed up to the elbows, and wrinkled trousers stuffed into knee-high boots. His proper right hand holds a Bible and his proper left hand holds the handle of a shovel, with the blade resting on the bronze replica of a boulder that forms the base of the statue.
