(On rear of base:) Erected by the following Scottish Rite Classes 1920 A.D./Albert Pike Army/Sunshine Victory/Liberty Peace with Honor/Over-the-Top/Old Glory/Home-coming/James D. Richardson/Soldiers of Liberty. (On front of base:) Sam Cochran/An Honored Citizen/A True Freemason and Christian gentleman. signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  Full-length figure of Samuel P. Cochran stands on a nearly square base. The figure wears full Mason regalia and holds a plumed hat in his proper right hand. A sword hangs from his proper right hip. He appears to be balding and has a moustache. Subject:  Portrait male -- Cochran, Samuel Poyntz -- Full length Dress -- Ceremonial -- Masonic Dress Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Texas -- Dallas Sculpture Owner:  Scottish Rite Cathedral, 500 South Harwood, Dallas, Texas 75201 Remarks:  Commissioned by twelve classes of the Scottish Rite for $25,000 in honor of Samuel Poyntz Cochran (1855-1936), the Sovereign Grand Inspector General of the Masons in Dallas. The base has been cleaned several times.
