    Description: 
    Large cylinder stamp oriented horizontally. The cylinder features a relief of the City of Los Angeles on its surface. It is attached to a steel pulley and when pulled along the beach with a tractor leaves a bird's eye view of city in the sand. Images include buildings, roads, parks and parking lots.

The sculpture was also funded by the City of Santa Monica's Percent for Art Program, with additional funds received from the Santa Monica Arts Foundation. Nearby plaque reads: "Santa Monica Art Tool: 'Walk on L.A.' 1988/CARL CHENG/Constructed by John Doe Co./Cast concrete and steel/ Commissioned by the City of Santa Monica Percent for Art Program as part of the/Natural Elements Sculpture (NES) Park with funds from the National Endowment for the/Arts and the Santa Monica Arts Foundation" IAS files contain an excerpt from "SMarts: Guide to Public Art in Santa Monica."
