    Description: 
    Life-size portrait of a circa 1870's river boat captain. Figure has a moustache and holds his head erect. He wears a captain's hat and a double breasted overcoat buttoned to the upper chest showing a wide bow tie. His proper right arm is bent at the elbow and holds a telescope next to his chest. His proper left hand is holding gloves by his side.
