    Description: 
    A uniformed Civil War soldier stands at parade rest, leaning on his rifle, hands holding the muzzle. The butt of the rifle rests by proper right foot. The soldier has a moustache and wears a billed cap, with the cape of his overcoat flung over his proper left shoulder. The stump of a tree is behind his proper right leg, and the toe of his proper left foot extends over the front of the base. The soldier is mounted upon a multitiered, inscribed base with a castellated upper section with a star on the front.

    Remarks: 
    The monument was erected by the Henry G. Beebe Women's Relief Corps of Richmond and commemorates Civil War soldiers. A working Civil War mortar once stood next to the monument. IAS files contain a related article from The Review (Michigan), May 20, 1987.
