    Description: 
    The memorial consists of a bronze statue of a minuteman, the symbol of the United State National Guard, installed atop a granite base in front of three granite inscription walls. Inscribed bricks and six granite benches surround the memorial.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the Rhode Island National Guard Retirees Association. The memorial was partially funded with a $25,000 grant from Rhode Island Governor Donald Carcieri and a $25,000 grant from Rhode Island House Speaker Gordon Fox. An additional $150,000 was raised through donations, and through the sale of bricks and benches installed on the memorial site. Labor and materials worth $32,000 were donated to the memorial project.
